Nathaniel L. “Nate” Roth, 53, of Havelock, North Carolina and formerly of Springfield, passed away at home on June 12, 2024, following a 14-year battle with heart disease. He was born at Wright Patterson AFB on February 22, 1971, to parents Olive A. Bailey and Wayne H. Roth. George L. Sanders stepped up as a father and raised Nate from a young age, along with his sister, Shelley Stump, and brothers, Wayne (Amanda) Roth and Thomas G. Roth, Sr-Nate’s identical twin. Then George added two more children to the family, Lurline Sanders Driscoll and James Robert Walton Sanders. Along with his siblings, Nate is survived by father figure, Jerry Pyles, Sr.; sister, Star Pyles; special aunt, Betty; dear friend, James Cash; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Amy L. Roth; parents, George and Anita Sanders; and brother, Jimbob. Nate fought adversity from birth, being born premature, but he never gave up despite the many challenges and obstacles he faced. Even on his death bed, he was fighting for life and doing miraculous things. The family wants to personally thank all of Roth Ministries family from around the world for walking beside them during Nate’s last months on live stream, praying, singing, reading the word, and sharing the love of Jesus with Nate and one another. Special thanks also to Craven County Hospice, especially Nate’s personal nurse, Jennifer, who went above and beyond to make sure that he was well taken care of and comfortable. All the nurses and social workers treated Nate like family and shared the love of Jesus and their compassion with Nate and his twin brother. Tom is so thankful to the Heavenly Father for giving him an identical twin to walk through life with. More than anything, Nate loved God and loved sharing God’s love with everybody. He attracted people with his personality, sense of humor, and compassion. He was a great listener and gave himself freely to serve others no matter the day or hour. Nate leaves a legacy that began with his father, George L. Sanders—the legacy of sharing the gospel and love of Jesus Christ with others. This legacy will be carried on by his twin, Pastor Thomas G. Roth, Sr., and Roth Ministries on live stream-a group that Nathaniel founded many years ago.
