Patrick Foley Obituary

In Loving Memory of Patrick Ray Foley

Patrick Ray Foley, 37, of Fairborn, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Though his life was tragically cut short after a hard-fought battle to live, Patrick’s spirit and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ give his family peace, knowing he gave his heart to the Lord.

Born on August 15, 1988, in Springfield, Ohio, Patrick was the only beloved son of Cecil R. Foley and April (DeHart) Foley, and the father of his only child, Christian S.R. Foley, whom he loved more than anything in this world. Patrick took pride in his son and the young man he had become and he gave that credit to his forever dearest friend, Brittany Taulbee, who raised Christian.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Cecil and April; his cherished son, Christian; his loving sister, Rebecca (Foley) Stratton and boyfriend, Jason Holmes, Jason’s two daughters Sophia and Abby; and his three nephews, Jordan L. Smith Jr., Mason L. Smith, and Carson M. Smith, who could always bring a smile to his face. He is also survived by his grandmother, Anne Foley; many aunts and uncles, including Patricia Brooks (Clayton), Glenn W. DeHart, Jr. (Brenda, deceased), Debbie Curtis (Tom), David G. DeHart (Donna), Naomi Smith (Barry), Lolita Miller (Brian), Janie DeHart (Edward, deceased), and Alice Louise Palmatier (deceased), as well as numerous cousins, extended family and childhood friends, who will miss him dearly.

Patrick had a remarkable way of leaving people feeling valued. He carried warmth and generosity into every interaction, never hesitating to lend a hand, even if it meant giving his last dime. He was proud of his work and his skills as a tree climber, often called upon for difficult jobs, and was admired for his courage, determination, and heart.

Above all, Patrick’s proudest role was being a father. He lived for Christian, and wanted to make his son proud of him. His love as a father is a legacy that will endure.

Even in his passing, Patrick gave of himself. As an organ donor, he saved the lives of others—a final act of selflessness that reflects the way he lived. Though all of his organs could not be used due to an autopsy, he was able to give the gift of life to three people.

Patrick leaves behind a family who will forever hold him close in memory, finding comfort in knowing he is now with his Savior, free from pain and suffering. He was a son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend—but above all, he was a hero to those who knew and loved him.

Patrick Ray Foley will be remembered as a man of heart, faith, and devotion. Despite his personal struggles and the many battles he fought, his family was very proud of him and the love he gave to others.
