Philip James Simpson

Philip James Simpson, 73, passed away on Father’s Day, June 15, 2025 in Oakwood Village in Springfield, Ohio following a long illness. His wife and family were able to be with Phil and to express their love and care for him before his passing.

Phil was born February 8, 1952 in Oregon, Illinois. He graduated from Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio in 1970.

Phil worked in a financial office for many years. He and his wife, Karen traveled the world through his job. In his later years Phil worked as a sales clerk at Sears in Columbus, Ohio.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Karen (Kushmaul) Simpson and his brother-in-law and dear friend, Kent Kushmaul. Survivors also include one brother and four sisters, including Mark (Brenda) Simpson, Christie (Joe) Good, Julie (Don) Thompson, Janet (Mark) Neal, Joan (Mark) Henry.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Patricia Simpson and his dear son, Troy.

He was laid to rest in Ferncliff Cemetery beside his parents and son. Arrangements were entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
