Richard “Dick” Lowell Wallace, 83, of Celina, Ohio passed away May 18, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton, joining the love of his life, L. Joyce (Chaplin) Wallace, who he had missed every day since she passed in 2006. He was born March 1, 1942, in Springfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Eugene Wallace. Dick was a jack of all trades; he had worked as a machinist, a deputy on the Yukon, Oklahoma police department, and owned his own moving company, among other things, before retiring as a Deputy Registrar of the Beavercreek License Bureau. He was instrumental in starting the COPP program in Beavercreek. He had spent much of his time in the last several years at his home in Grand Lake St. Mary, putting more miles on his golf cart than his car. Dick never knew a stranger, and he enjoyed riding around passing out eggs by the dozen to people he came across. He was a true patriot who loved being involved in the community. In addition to his beloved Joyce, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Vaughn “Bud” Wallace, Yvonne Wallace, and Mark Wallace. Survivors include his two daughters, Mira (Don) Walls and Lori (J. Doug) Bradley; bonus son, Bryan Rick “Chappy” Chaplin; grandchildren, Ashley (Jack III) May, Brandon (Meghan) Bradley, and Lindsay Bradley (Ron Cobb); great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jaylynn, Kaylee, Liam, Rian, Laryssa, Terry, Jayde, Justice, and Laniya; siblings, Connie (David) Cain, Mike (Anne) Wallace, and Lisa (Tad) Frederick; and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was loved by many special friends at the Lake and at Wooded Glen Rehab Center. He loved them all. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services from 12-1 pm. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Dayton. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
