Robert Coonrod, 67, of Springfield, was called to Heaven for a jam session on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. He was born in Greenfield, Ohio to the late Phyllis and Dale (Blain) Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Stant) Coonrod; their son, Robert Coonrod; daughters, Melissa Harris, Samantha Bunch, Christina Hall, Miranda Vaughn, Shelby Vaughn, and Cheyenne (Brandon) Phillips; grandchildren, Jayme (Brett) Hakes, Shayla, Laylah, LaShaun, Cali, Myanna (Rosie), and Bobby; great-grandchildren; Harper, Hayzen and Hadyx Hakes, his siblings; Kathy (Brian) Cubbage, Tim (Ronda) Coonrod, Dale (Amy) Chapman, Jr., Ladale Frost (Bob Mitchell), and Karen Coonrod; special brother and fishing partner, Chuck Drummond; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Ola; brother, Phillip Coonrod; and sister, Teresa Coonrod. He loved his dogs and grand-dogs. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Machinist Club. Music was a big part of his life. He played bass, but later found his passion for the drums. He played in many bands, including Avondale Station, High Aces, and others. He loved playing music on Avondale and at several other venues. He enjoyed going riding with Ann on their Harley. Bob had many friends—everyone knew who it was when they heard “that voice.” Special thanks to Baily and Heather from Hospice, friends Terri and Dan, Rosa and Denny, and Craig and Angie, and special neighbors Aarion and Teresa Mabra. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the services begin at 1:00.
