Robert "Pete" Pertel

Robert “Pete” Pertel, 82, passed away early on July 5, 2024, at home. Pete was born April 27, 1942, in Venice, California to Joseph John Pertel and Elizabeth Joan Bihari, both of whom preceded Pete in death.  Pete loved painting, cooking and long country drives in his convertible. He was known as a goofy guy, who enjoyed sending the silliest greeting cards he could find to those he loved and always had a pocket full of candy and an insatiable sweet tooth. Pete was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and beloved by his congregation. He fell asleep peacefully, with strong faith in the hope God’s word offers. He was confident that he would see his loved ones again in Paradise. Pete married the love of his life, Judy, in 1989. They enjoyed sharing the Bible’s hope with others. In his final days, his concern was for Judy, not himself. Pete is survived by his wife, Judy; his beloved children: Becky (Chris) Stucky, Kim Pertel Abu-Arquob, Heather Pertel, and Brian Pertel; Stepchildren: Stephanie (Mark) Hall, Kristen (Ted) LyBurtus, and Matt (Trisha) Zapp along with numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. His loved ones will miss him dearly but are relieved that he is no longer in pain. Per Pete’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are being made by JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
