In Remembrance 1941-2026

Robert C. Purdy DPM

A beloved son, father, brother and husband

May 14, 2026

Robert “Bob” or “Rocky” to his folks, was a dedicated and well respected Podiatrist in the Maumee and Toledo Ohio area until the time of his retirement. He went on to run numerous business ventures after that and was a longtime proud member of The Rotary Club.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky to Ted and Ethel Purdy, he grew up with his beloved brother Allen and sister Linda. Preceded in death was his wife, Karen Purdy whom he shared 27 beautiful years. He is survived by his daughter Jill K Christian and her husband Ron (3 grandchildren + 4 great grandchildren) and son Jonathan Purdy (1 grandchild). His beloved extended family include brother-in-law Roy Nachand and Bob’s nephews Christopher and Adam and their families. His step family included Lauren Mitchell and Spencer Mitchell. He adored them all.

Professionally, Bob’s journey started at Ohio College of Medicine after 2 years of undergrad at University of Louisville. He interned in Youngstown, OH and proceeded to open a podiatry practice for 3 years before joining a group practice in Paducah, Ky. He then moved to Maumee, OH started a solo practice before opening a practice in Toledo, OH.

Anyone who knew Bob in a social setting would agree… he was a master of comedy. He loved jokes, funny movies and TV sitcoms. Steve Martin was one of his all time favorites along with Benny Hill (never missed an episode)!

His other passions included antique cars - he collected many over the years. One of his favorites was his classic American Hupmobile. Bob also had a huge soft spot for dogs. We always had a dog in our house growing up and his love for them continued throughout his lifetime. The stand outs are Spike “the Target dog” and Rusty and Milo his rescued Beagles.

As a family, we will miss his wit, love of learning and books that he passed along and we also thank him for his dedication to his profession - his patients loved him dearly. You will be greatly missed Dad - until we meet again. Love You xoxox
