Rodney Eugene Leonard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney Eugene Leonard, 75, of Springfield, OH, on April 5, 2025. Born on October 5, 1949, to the late Gene and Shirley Leonard, Rodney lived a life full of love, laughter, and joy.

Rodney was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and James Leonard. He leaves behind his devoted wife of many years, Cindy Leonard, and his sons, Donnie Johnson and Bryan Evans. Rodney was also a proud and loving grandfather to Madison Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Taylor Dewitt, and Tyler Dewitt. He is survived by his sister, Kim Vaughn, and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Rodney was known for his sense of humor, unwavering support, and boundless love for his family. His love for his wife, Cindy, was very well seen and felt. He often expressed how much he treasured her presence in his life. The impact of his love will resonate in her life, as well as in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew him. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, whether that be at sporting events such as cheerleading competitions or swim meets, or spending the weekends making precious memories and funny stories to tell. A passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds, Rodney found joy in watching games and sharing his enthusiasm with those he loved.

Rodney's kind heart and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories that will continue to warm the hearts of his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Rodney's life at Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home, 1002 E High Street in Springfield, OH. Visitation will be held for family and close friends from 2:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M on Thursday, and eulogy will be given at 3:30 P.M. A gathering for food and fellowship will be held after services at Temple Sholom. The address is 2424 North Limestone St. Springfield, Ohio.
