Rosemary Clark Obituary

Rosemary L. Clark, 79, passed away peacefully at home on December 22nd after a long and courageous journey with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Jerry Clark; her parents, LaDema and Theodore Schemmel; and her siblings, Barbara Schutte, James Schemmel, and Julia Behrens. Rosemary leaves behind her sister, Kathryn Schemmel; several nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law, Betty Clark-McClenaghan and Patricia Clark-Shackelford, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A proud graduate of Miami University, Rosemary was a strong, determined woman with a deep commitment to her community. She gave freely of her time through organizations close to her heart, including the Clark County Literacy Coalition, the Clark County Park District, and the Springfield Kiwanis Club. Rosemary and Jerry also shared many joyful moments together as members of the local Miata and Wine Clubs, where they built lasting friendships and shared countless laughs.

At home, Rosemary found great comfort and companionship in her beloved cats, Moe and Merlin, who were never far from her side and brought her endless joy.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Sarah Graham and Donna Lewis for the loving care, kindness, and friendship they provided to Rosemary over the past several years. Their compassion meant the world to her and to those who loved her.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 24th, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Jones, Kenney, Zechman Funeral Home, 1002 E. High Street, Springfield.
