Russell "Rusty" Leslie Sumner

Russell Leslie “Rusty” Sumner, 61, of Springfield, passed away in his home on Saturday, September 13, 2025. He was born March 3, 1964 in Springfield, the son of Jerry Lee and Mary Frances (Woodruff) Sumner. Rusty was a member of Elderly United. He enjoyed playing pool, swimming, and fishing. He loved riding his electric bike, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Priscilla Warren, Jerry Sumner, Amanda Sumner, Floyd (Ashley) Sumner, Russell (Kara) Sumner, Jr., Kevin Sumner, Brandi (Paul) Sumner, Walter (Selina) Sumner, and Crystal (Trevor) Sumner; brother, Charles (Pam) Sumner; sister, Melissa (Greg) Keys; grandchildren, Floyd Jr, Aalyiah, Aaron, Cameron, Amelia, Amiyah, Chauncey, Lexi, Ariel, Atlas, Layla, and Brandon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Velma Minke; and brother, Robert Camp, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Victory Faith Center, 424 S. Fountain Ave. Springfield with Pastor Chris Lupis officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services in the church.
