Stephen “Steve” Douglas Bowman, 62, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 in his home. He was born January 12, 1964 in Springfield, the son of William and Donna (Adams) Bowman. Steve was a graduate of the International College of Broadcasting as well as a licensed chemical dependency counselor. He ran a chemical dependency recovery house for men. Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years, Susan (Weber) Bowman; two daughters, Stephanie (Joshua) Newsome and Leah Bowman; two stepchildren, Alexa (Henry) Guthrie and Ryan Whaley; grandchildren, Rian, Reagan, Remington, Gaven, Hailey, Leland, Bryant, Randy, Kenzie, Cecelia, and Henry Jr.; brothers, Gregory (Cynthia) Bowman and Terry (Linda) Bowman; several beloved nieces and nephews, including special niece, Stacy (Rocky) Jernigan; and special friend, Chet Huffman. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Bowman; sister, Nancy Frank; and his parents. Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm on Thursday, June 25, 2026 with services starting at 1:00 pm in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
