Sue Ann Phillips, 69, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 in her home. She was born July 7, 1955 in Springfield, the daughter of Paul “Rex” and Mary K. (Robinson) Williams. Sue retired from the U.S. Post Office in South Vienna, where she had worked as a mail carrier for many years. Her nickname around the post office was “The Barracuda.” She loved going camping with her family, watching her soap operas, and cooking. Sue was a giver who just enjoyed making people happy. Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Charles Ray Phillips, Sr.; children, Charles Ray Phillips, Jr., Rachel (Michael) Martin, and Teresa Gonzalez; siblings, John Williams (Richard Halderman) and Lorraine Hise; nieces, Trisha Pace, Paula Williams, and Dawn Lempke; nephews, Timothy Gilliam, Michael Wilcox, and Brandon Williams; and several other beloved family members. She was preceded in death by brother, Gary Williams, and by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
