Susan Kay Rife

Susan Kay Rife, 83, of Springfield, passed away August 27, 2025 at Forest Glen Health Campus. She was born August 26, 1942 in Indiana. Susan had been the lead manager at Duff’s Smorgasbord for many years, a job that she truly loved. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, doing crossword puzzles, and sitting on her porch listening to music. Survivors include two sons, Timothy D. Rife and Michael A. (Sue) Rife; ten beloved grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Ronald Rife Jr, Jeff Rife, and Tasha Rife; sisters, Polly, Carla, Sherry, Cindy, and Jackie; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Junior” Rife; son, Ronald Rife Sr; daughter, Brenda K. Stockle; mother and stepfather, Mary (Young) and Carl Roby; father and stepmother, Paul and Delphine Sever; and sister, Liz. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 5 in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services.
