Tammy Hedge, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on March 11, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on December 30, 1962, to the late Elmer Eugene Wildman and Barbara McClanahan Wildman, Tammy was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew her. A proud graduate of Shawnee High School in 1981, Tammy carried the spirit of her education throughout her life, fostering a love for reading that was as vast as the worlds within her favorite Stephen King novels. Her passion for horror movies was legendary among her family and friends, and she was often the go-to person for movie recommendations.
Tammy's zest for life was matched only by her love for her family. She was a beloved mother to Jennifer (Tony) Cornell, Ashley Thornton, Zach (Taylor) Hedge; sister to Randy Wildman. She was preceded in death by her brother Brian Wildman, as well as her parents. Tammy's role as an aunt was one, she cherished deeply, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with her grandchildren: Kelsey, Tony, Wesley, Brianna, Benjamin, Jase, Ava, Sky, Sylas, and Kalel. Her presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and joy, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her. Tammy's enthusiasm for life extended to her culinary adventures as well. A self-proclaimed foodie, she delighted in exploring new restaurants and cuisines. Her adventurous spirit and willingness to try anything once made her an excellent dining companion. Above all, Tammy valued her family more than anything else in the world. Tammy's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of cherishing every moment. As we say goodbye to Tammy, we celebrate the life of a woman who was not only cherished for her own accomplishments but also for the love she gave so freely to others. She will be remembered as a loving sister, a doting grandmother, and a friend to all.
Tammy's family takes comfort in knowing that she lived her life to the fullest, surrounded by the books she adored, the movies that thrilled her, and the family she placed above all else. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Tammy Hedge's journey on this earth has come to an end, but her story will continue to be told through the memories she created with those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in peace, Tammy. Your light will never fade. Per Tammy’s wishes, she will be cremated. No Services are being held currently. Arrangements are being made by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN funeral home. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com
