Valerie Ruth Cosby

Valerie Ruth Cosby, 75, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Troy Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was born April 17, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. Valerie had worked at Kay’s Cleaning Service for many years. She enjoyed singing karaoke and doing crochet work. Survivors include her two sons, Ernest (Tammy) Cornelison and Damion (Tabitha) Grim; grandchildren, Damiyona (Jacob) Watson, Riley Grim, Jazlynn Knapp, Blake Keaton, and Tasha (Michael) Claar; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Miley; sisters, Joyce Penwell and Rosie Pack; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Ernest and Bertha Smith; mother, Helen Marie Lawhun; daughter, Heather Rhea Cosby; and siblings, Beulah McManamay, Ernest Jackson Smith, Betty Ogle, Emmajean Hensley, Caroline Pummell, and Jenny Yates. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Sharon Johnson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 pm.
