Vernon Dale Jenkins Sr.

     Vernon Dale Jenkins Sr., 79, of Springfield, passed away February 8, 2025, in Kettering Health of Troy. He was born October 19, 1945, in Springfield, the son of Paul and Mae (Wells) Jenkins Sr. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed playing bingo, attending family outings, fishing, the Cincinnati Reds, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. He had been employed at the United States Post Office. Survivors include five children; Robert (Margarita) Jenkins, Rick (Kendra) Jenkins, William Jenkins, Ginger (Wayne) Stewart and Joee Dale Jenkins, 37 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, siblings; Ed, Rick, Gary, Red, Junior, Jackie, Cindy, Diane and Marian and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife. Marian Sue Jenkins on January 23, 2025, siblings; Ron and Connie and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services.
