Vickie Lee (Bishop) Galloway

          Vickie Lee (Bishop) Galloway, 68, of Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness November 10, 2023. She was born February 2, 1955, in Springfield, the daughter of Merlin A. Bishop and Marion G. (Evey) McClanahan. Vickie’s life was filled with her love of horses, from showing horses with her daughter, to riding trails, to her 1st Kentucky Derby and every October, going to the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. With her passion for horses, you would always find Vickie in the barn spending time with horses. Even when her illness got the better of her, Vickie’s love for horses never failed. Vickie is survived by her daughter, Michele Thomas, three grandchildren, Ryan and Anna Thomas and Ava Kohn, all of Louisville, KY. Vickie is also survived by her mother, Marion McClanahan and brother, Michael Bishop as well as nieces, Candace (Tony) Stevens and Kelly (Tom) Bowling all of Springfield. Vickie is also survived by several aunts, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Merlin Bishop. Private services will be held at a later date for Vickie’s family.
