Walter "Walt" Roy Salyers

Walter Roy “Walt” Salyers, 64, of Springfield passed away August 16, 2025, in Allen View Health Care Center. He was born March 28, 1961, the son of Jerry and Phyllis (Suttles) Salyers. Walt enjoyed fishing, watching football, especially the Browns and spending time with his loving family and many friends. He was the owner of Walt’s Tree Service and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his beloved wife of 3 years; Teresa (Warren) Salyers, children; Anson (Melissa) Lowery, Jerry (Eby) Salyers, Benjamin (Tiffany) Salyers, Priscilla Warren, Jerry Sumner, Amanda Sumner, Floyd Sumner (Ashley Chochard), Russell (Kara) Sumner, Kevin Sumner, Brandi Sumner, Walter (Salena) Sumner, Crystal Sumner, Amy Pollard, Wendy Pollard and Terry Pollard, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings; Tammy (Tom) Newman, Aaron Salyers, Lavona (Mike) Salyers, Honey (Ryan) and Davina and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Annette Salyers, a brother; Michael Salyers and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Victory Faith Center, 424 South Fountain Avenue, Springfield with Pastor Pauline Hamblin officiating. Friends may visit with Walt’s family for one hour prior to the services in the church. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
