William “Bill” Ellison Baughman, 68, of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 3, 1957 in Springfield, Ohio. Bill enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and he loved music, especially classic rock and jazz. He was a lot of fun, and his slick moves earned him the nickname “The Dancing Bear.” Survivors include his beloved wife, Diana Lynn (Potts) Baughman; three children, Amanda (Robert “Tower”) Baughman-Hague, Jonathan Baughman, and Misty (Morgan) Perry; mother, Lillian (Sawyer) Fain; grandchildren/Bill’s little best friends, Joshua Michael Hague, Matthew Thomas Hague, Lillian Grace Hague, and Craig Ellison Perry; siblings, Deborah Ludden, Becky Baughman, Connie Jo Sallee, Rick (Heather) Fain, Wayne Baughman, and Herschel Baughman; spinning buddy, Kenny Bradley; special nephews and nieces, Justin Sallee and his partner Jasmine, Ryan, Wesley, Matt, Jessica, George, Karen; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Junior” Baughman; stepfather, Homer Fain; brother, Frank Fain; grandparents, Stanley and Margaret “Granny” Sawyer; and special cousin, Randy Baughman.
